BY-LAWS of the

NEW YORK STATE ATHLETIC TRAINERS' ASSOCIATION, Inc.

June, 2005

Article I MEMBERSHIP

Section 1. Membership classification will be made according to the definitions, requirements, and specifications established by the National Athletic Trainers' Association, Inc.

Section 2. Membership in the National Athletic Trainers' Association, Inc. is a prerequisite and requirement for membership in the New York State Athletic Trainers Association Inc.. New York State Athletic Trainers Association Inc. membership and membership status is concurrent and renewed with current National Athletic Trainers' Association, Inc. membership. Application and annually renewed membership status in the New York State Athletic Trainers Association Inc. shall be concurrent with National Athletic Trainers' Association, Inc. membership. Dues for New York State Athletic Trainers Association Inc. shall be paid through National Athletic Trainers' Association, Inc.. The categories for membership shall be: A. Certified B. Associate C. Certified Student D. Student E. Retired F. Honorary

Section 3. All members may take part in discussion or debate and, in general, have the privilege of the floor during the annual business meeting or any other specially convened business meeting. Only Certified and Certified Retired members shall be entitled to make motions or vote. Motions may be made from the floor and passed by a quorum of attending Certified or Certified Retired members.

Section 4. Only New York State Education Department Certified members shall be entitled to hold elected office in the New York State Athletic Trainers' Association, Inc.

Section 5. The address of the member's place of employment will be used as the official mailing address for the New York State Athletic Trainers' Association, Inc. purposes. This information shall be maintained and updated by the National Athletic Trainers' Association, Inc. and utilized and available by the New York State Athletic Trainers Association Inc. Secretary.

Section 6. Military Service If a member in good standing enters military service, no dues for membership in the New York State Athletic Trainers Association Inc. shall be required during the member's initial enlistment period or during times of war.
